“Mirror-Tonal Fanfare” is composed using a mirror-tonal concept in which all of the harmony is mirrored around a central note or group of notes. Though unified by the harmonic concept, there is much interplay between duple and triple meter feels in both the low and high brass. The horns serve as the middle ground (and center of the mirror), for the most part, both rhythmically and harmonically. It is inspired by the music of Stravinsky and Dukas.
